
Blackberry Services Ban Feared
Earlier the Indian government asked Research in Motion (RIM) to provide a way to decrypt Blackberry messages. The government gave a deadline; 31st Mar, else Blackberry services would be terminated. Now there has been a turn of events and the government has asked all telecom companies to have security systems in place to decrypt Blackberry messages; else a complete ban on the service. The time allotted to the companies is 15days. There are over 400 thousand users of Blackberry devices who would be affected. The Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued directives to telecom service providers to work out specifics of how to provide full-proof security with concerned RIM
