fring teams up with Aussie Wi-Fi provider myKP
Fellow aussie boys and girls… now we’re really on the fringing map!
It seems that Australian fringsters have been rewarded for our regular fringing and generous feedback… fring has teamed up with Aussie Wi-Fi provider myKP.
This basically means that fring enabled handsets will recognise and login on the myKP Wi-Fi network so you can make free mobile phone calls, chat and access the Internet over Wi-Fi with your fring and myKP credentials already activated. Bottom line for fringsters? Heaps of free Wi-Fi access across

The rumours are true… fring works on your new Sony Ericsson P1i!There are 2 ways to see for yourself:

Facebook on your mobile!
Are you a Facebook user? If not, then get into it as it is one of the big things in online communities at the moment and it is going off! Facebook is a great way to keep all your friends up to date with what you are currently doing, what you want to do and who to do it with.
Facebook even has a great mobile site so you can see what your friends are up to whilst you are mobile too.

Not to mention that fring also has a group on Facebook so get in, join up and share your fringing tidbits with other fringsters.
Nokia puts out warning about possible defective batteries
Just picked this up from Australian IT today that Nokia has made an announcement regarding some of their recently manufactured batteries may become defective.
Whilst there has been no serious incidents reported yet it would be a good idea to head over to the special area they have created on their website to see if your Nokia device may have a defective battery.

……and you thought it was fring getting you all hot and steamy! :-p
ICQ support now in fring!
Another great incentive to use fring! Announcing ICQ support for fring!
ICQ functions just like our other fring-integrated IM services, integrating all your ICQ buddies into your fring contact list together with your Skype, MSN Messenger, Google Talk and regular phonebook contacts.
So how can you start fringing with ICQ?
It’s very easy! If you’re already a fringster, go to Options –> Settings –> Configure Services, scroll down to select ICQ. Just add your ICQ number and password, and we’ll do the rest to make sure all your ICQ buddies are integrated into your fring contact list so you can start chatting & calling buddies right away!
If you’re not yet a fringster, become one download here and during your quick download process it will prompt you to add services.
Note: We’re currently still working on the display functionality so depending on your handset, you may not yet see your ICQ buddies highlighted on the top of the screen; instead the fring icon will be highlighted to indicate fring or ICQ contacts. Once we resolve this challenge, will update fring and you will see ICQ on your IM toolbar.
