Default Wrong decision

I hope that Fring's developers should understand that most of users use this soft mainly for SKYPE. Without SKYPE is generaly useless. I made mistake, should go directly to Nimbuzz.

I thought there was something wrong with my mobile because I could not imagine this type of stupid behavior from Fring. I kept on trying the whole day. There is no use of Fring without the skype support. Now I have switched to Nimbuzz, but I am hoping that Fring start the skpe support soon or they will loose all their users.
thank you!! I find that Nimbuzz woks much better than fring did with skype calls! you rock!!

Default Dumb Move

Let me get this straight......You give your users a new capability, they really like it, so you take it away because it is not what you want them to like. Huh? If Fring-to-Skype traffic is swamping your servers, maybe you should get the hint that that is what your users want, not Fring-to-Fring traffic. Taking away Skype access is not going to create Fring users, they will simply leave. Skype access is what put Fring on the map. You are throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Maybe a mass exodus from Fring to Nimbuzz will help straighten this out. Follow me to Nimbuzz.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT YOU TURN OFF THE SKYPE SERVICE WITHOUT ANY NOTICE JUST BECAUSE YOU GUYS DIDN'T ESTIMATE THE HUGE NETWORK FLOW JUMP?

If there is no skype service, I don't think there is any reason to leave fring in my phone.

Dude, I agree with you they should make an announcement as to why Skype has been removed but check ur grammar for gods sakes that post is barely readable.

Default Thanks for not letting everyone know in advance !

Just remove a key service with no notice ??

Bad customer relations -- bad business

Wait and wait for Fring to get Skype working somewhat properly --
then I decide to buy a Skype In number and Skype Out subscription --

Boom -- Fring deletes Skype service with no notice !

Thanks a bunch

Reducing support for Skype?? Well, I suppose that removing it altogether is certainly the most extreme method you can use to "reduce" it.

The only - repeat, ONLY - reason that I installed Fring on my HTC EVO is so that I can video chat with a couple of friends who use Skype on their PCs, and so far Skype hasn't seen fit to release an Android client for any phone other than a particular one (I forget which one(s)) on Verizon. My friends in questions do not have Fring installed on their computers. They don't want Fring on their computers. Which means that there's not a snowball's chance in hell that they're going to install Fring on their computers.

And the timing couldn't have been worse - today, I was in another city, visiting some friends, who know one of the afore-mentioned Skype-using friends of mine. I said, "hey, why don't we surprise her, since I can video chat with her on my phone using this Fring client to access her via her Skype account!" Imagine my joy when there was nothing there when I started the Fring client and I couldn't figure out what was wrong..... Thanks a heap for turning what could have been a fun "reunion" of sorts into a big let-down for everyone. The ones at my end left that situation with comments that it sure didn't sound like an app that they want to use on *their* phones....

Considering the user base of the iPhone, you guys at Fring really should have better anticipated the load on your servers if you decided to release a client for that platform. That was your first bit of Bad Decision. The second bit of Bad Decision was negatively impact your existing users by turning off Skype for them. If anything, you should have removed the Skype access from the iPhone app until such time as you could beef things up to accommodate them, and let the existing users continue to use the service.

A horrible, horrible, stupid decision.

As a result, Fring is completely useless to me on my phone. Unless Skype functionality is restored in pretty quick order, there will be no reason for it to remain on my phone taking up valuable storage space.

Thumbs up

this is useless and unruly kind of arrogance. u know that u r (in fact were) the only providers of video calls using skype to all users of the world.

that is why u did this to show how fring has become important to the world. u have no sense and totally inhuman to withdraw support from the service provider that has brought you to such a place.

what the hell do u think of yourselves? u'll see how soon we will get video calling option from other more capable and responsible providers who do not indulge in FILTHY PRACTICES

Unhappy

I use to like fring and then found other better im apps. I left and then came back just for skype support. nimbuzz unfortunately doesn't work well with out wifi. fring was the only app I used for skype but now it's so useless. way to ruin your business.

*Edit. HAHAHAH. Look at all the negative reviews on the apple store now that they f*cked up. Fring, you're company is gonna get so shitted on.
