I agree that without Skype--Fring becomes less appealing for many people. I was excited about being able to use Fring but I'm probably going to remove until it comes back. I really don't use the other plugins.

I agree. I use fring only for skype so I ca use wi-fi or over the movile network. If skype is not available in this application I will remove it from my cel phone.

I have been searching for a way to video chat with my wife (on the go) in the Philippines for months. I heard about fring/skype a few weeks ago and went and got on the waiting list for the EVO. I got the EVO 3 days ago and downloaded fring before I left best buy and video conferenced with my wife the whole way home. I was elated! It was the answer to my prayers. Then 60 hours later its gone. just gone. Because of Iphone? Screw Iphone. Let all the little apple dweebs wait for their apple solution. Not only is Fring now pointless, my EVO is pointless. I could be using my FREE tmobile phone paying 35$/month instead of lugging around this battery eating, pocket laptop and paying 3X the monthly premium to do do. I am highly disappointed. And I will not be waiting for your new fring-fring video service either because that's pointless as well. BAD MOVE.

Oh, I just remembered, all is not lost. I'm in my 30 day window for refund. Do you plan to return skype service withing the next 25 days? If not I'm returning my phone.

Fring is now useless to me. I'm uninstalling now to free up space.
I only ever used Skype. No one else I know uses Fring. (I have an Android HTC EVO)

I used Fring to be able to make video calls. All my calls are to my Skype friends, because they are all overseas in another country, they don't have the availability to use Fring. I didn't even notice until I loaded Fring to talk to one of my overseas friends at our usual time, and Skype had disappeared.


As I stated, no one I know uses Fring, and maybe only 1 or 2 people out of the 100s I know have the ABILITY to download the Fring app. Fring-to-Fring calling is useless currently.



-----Why Fring should readd Skype immediately---
You, Fring, make money off this free program through the ads that appear. Skype is much more popular for most people in my opinion and through my observation of the reaction to the removal of Skype across the Internet.
Many are no longer using Fring or uninstalling.

This hurts Fring, since it uses advertisements in its app and less people are using it now.

You, Fring, should work on increasing your capability and readd Skype immediately to keep your user base from dropping. After that is back up focus on raising your capacity and Fring-to-Fring calls.

But I advise to first keep the Skype support. Doing so is a smarter decision as dropping it will cause a lot of users to stop using Fring because they are disappointed. They are not necessarily likely to return as they will ignore Fring, and not become aware when Skype is added a long time from now. Therefore it is more beneficial to re-support Skype first.

Yesterday, I recomended all my friends to install Fring. Today I am emailing them to uninstall it. If fring does not support videoconference with skype, I don't see too much use for it.
