The online/broadcast hybrid reality series Around The World For Free is back, bigger and better than ever before.

In 2007 we closely followed Alex Boylan, winner of The Amazing Race 2, as he traveled around the world without any money. Alex was followed by one cameraman Zsolt Luka who filmed, edited and produced the entire show from the road. Alex relied entirely on local guides and inhabitants for basic needs. His trip Around The World For Free took him through 16 Countries over 159 Days and he clocked more than 45000 Miles.

Here are a few extracts from season 1 of the show featuring your local fring blogger and two other well known South African Bloggers, CharlVN and Jayx.

This year thanks to CBS, the show is back with a new host, Amazing Race 16 and Big Brother 11 star Jeff Schroeder. The plan? Travel around the world in 100 days, with nothing more than a backpack and help from the online community.

Breaking news: I have just be informed that the ever popular reality internet and TV series we have been following here on the South Africa fring blog for the past 2 years will be broadcast in South Africa.

Around The World For Free which started airing in May’09 on WNG America has now been purchased by the hard working boys and girls of Sony Entertainment Television and will come to our screens on 22 July.

Join Alex Boylan and cameraman Zsolt Luka as they cross the globe for free in this 11hour TV series which can be seen on DSTV channel 113 starting Wednesday 22 July at 19h00.
