Lucky and Flo sniff out bootleg CDs, and DVDs

Lucky and Flo a pair of black Labrador Retrievers, have become the worlds first animals trained to detect optical discs by scent. “Earlier this month they took part in a series of raids along the German-Czech border that netted 18 000 bootleg CDs, and DVDs hidden in warehouses, car boots and other places.” They have also recently sniffed out about two million pirated films during a bust in Malaysia. Although Lucky and Flo cannot judge between what is legal and what is not, they have been very successful in leading their handler in the right direction, and thus far this operation has been a great success. CNN

With the recent influx of pirated DVD’s in South Africa, it would be interesting to know when Lucky and Flo will be paying our country a visit.
