We’ve just been notified that a user’s video about fring, posted back in October 2008, is still very much active and still doing very well: with over 629,444 views, 1,276 ratings & 3389 text comment, it’s one of fring’s most successful videos to date!

fring was delighted to see that we not only received honorable mention as one of the top 100 apps, we were also selected as one of the runners up for the 2008 “Best of the year awards”, under the category “iPhone, iPod Touch app of the year” & “Application Developer of the Year”.

Hi There,
As you might know, Apple’s released a new firmware version for iPhone/iPod touch.
Unfortunately, it looks like fring is not able to connect to the net using that firmware version on iPod touch.
We have found the bug causing it and fixed it internally. This should be available on the App Store in the next few days.
Since releasing the R&D version of fring for the iPhone, we have been busy carefully reviewing and listening to all the suggestions you sent us and we are now very excited to release to you fring for the iPhone (V1.0.4)
This is great news for the millions of iPhone users worldwide, the even better news however is that fring V1.0.4 is now officially available online through the App Store.
(V1.0.4 Supports the iPhone and the new iPod touch devices).
