Open Source Add-ons

Open source fring add-ons
We are excited to share the newest fring add-ons source code with the developer community. We used fring API with PHP SDK and .NET SDK, Twitter and Last.fm API’s and through mashups built an entirely new mobile experience, just like any 3rd party can do. The add-ons source code is released under LGPL license to let developers reuse it for free or commercial use.
Any web developer can develop mobile applications taking advantage of fring’s core features such as: integrated contact list, chat, voice and the interface to the device features.
Add-ons are web applications developed with standard web technologies and fring takes care of all the mobile elements such as: user-interface, connectivity and security.
In the add-on source code description pages we explain the following features of the Twitter and Last.fm add-ons:
Community – Mobilize the Twitter and Last.fm communities.
Mashups – Integrating the Twitter and Last.fm add-on with fring VoIP and chat and other add-on services (Skype, MSN etc) with only few lines of code.
Audio Streaming - Implement streaming directly from the Last.fm to the mobile device (relevant to Last.fm add-on)
