Great news fringsters, France Telecom has announced plans for yet another submarine cable to land in South Africa. The ACE or (Africa Coast to Europe) submarine cable system will have a minimum of capacity of 1.92Tbps and will go live in 2011.

The 14,000km long ACE submarine cable system which was initially going to stretch from France to Gabon will now land in 25 African and Western European countries. This is great news for South Africa and all we can say is rock on 2011.
