Very sad to hear of the passing of Henry Cele.

A star has departed.no amout of weeping nor wailing can heal my soul.Only God knows why you. You were an inspirational man whose role in demistifying African history would never be erased.Thank you for mentoring football stars, Siyabonga Nombvete,Sibusiso Zuma and Phumlani Mkize during your reign at African Wanderers. Hamba kahle wena we-e ZULU!

I was so sad to hear that Henry Cele had passed away last week that I created an online tribute to him at http://www.respectance.com/henrycele.

I remember first watching Shaka Zulu and being glued to the television. This man had an amazing presence.

Please help me celebrate the lives of these cherished S. Africans.

Henry Cele was awe inspiring in the Shaka Zulu miniseries. I once had the pleasure of sitting next to him on a domestic South African flight many years ago. What a charming gentleman. Gone, but not forgotten.

It’s a big loss to his fans $S African industry. May his soul rest in peace.

Shaka zulu,was and still is my inspiration.Am saddened by the news.In the States,it took me years to own a copy of the series.I watch them religiously.He`s not dead,he`s gone home.

I am extremely saddened by this loss. Over here in the U.S. where blacks are the minority, we watched this to see how a black man could be king and were proud of our S. African brothers (and sisters). I am hurt that his death was not well-publicized over here. You all do not know what his portrayal of Shaka Zulu did for the self-esteem of U.S. blacks. I am crying right now.

For those of us born in America who are extremely proud of our African heritage, Henry Cele helped make us proud during a time when the only images we saw of ourselves in the media were negative. He is a legend. He is one of my heroes-the only image the world has of Nkosi Shaka KaSenzangakhona. When you think of King Shaka, Henry Cele comes to mind. I have the miniseries and it means a lot to me. I watch it a lot because in his portrayal, I see myself. I will always remember him as my favorite actor. May he find peace with the ancestors.

What kind of chest infection did Henry Cele have when he entered the hospital where he died? Why was it necessary to keep him isolated? Was his poor behavior due to his condition?

After Shaka Zulu I thought his career would have taken off, he was such an imposing presence in the film, and definitely a very talented actor. I’m saddened by his premature death.
