fring blogger wins Nokia Calling All Innovators challenge !

Simon Botes, our super-blogger from South Africa, has won big at the Nokia World Calling All Innovators developer event.
In addition to being an awesome evangelist for fring and the goodies it has, Simon moonlights as an App developer and runs his own development company called AppCRAFT, last year the firm took 4th place in the Calling All Innovators Africa challenge. This year the AppCRAFT eLiteracy App took home 1st prize in the global ‘calling all innovators’ contest in the ‘Life Improvement Category’.

Huawei’s $200 Android Phone - IDEOS

Mobile manufacturer Huawei has announced its latest Android phone; IDEOS. This handset is targeted at the users wanting the smartphone experience but do not have the budget to buy an expensive handset. The IDEOS runs Android 2.2 which is quite a surprise. It features a 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive screen, 528 MHz processor, Bluetooth, full HSDPA 7.2Mbps support, Wi-Fi, and navigation (GPS) support. It also has a 3.2 MP camera and a 3.2mm jack for multimedia. The phone is expected to be priced around the $100-$200 range which makes it very affordable. Hope this one drops in India soon, it’ll surely be a success.
