In 2009, Innovation takes center stage at the with the introduction of Mobile Innovation ‘Grand Prix’ showcasing promising entrepreneurs, small and medium sized companies developing and introducing innovative products and services.

fring’s win of this award symbolizes the acceptance of mobile rich-communication technology by both operators and manufacturers, representing the mobile industry’s mainstream.

Back in May, Nokia has announced the release of its much- anticipated application store- the Ovi Store. Ovi provides tens of millions of Nokia users worldwide with easy access to a whole lot of downloadable goodies from the Ovi website and WAP site as well as Nokia N97 users, on which Ovi is already pre-installed.

fring’s updated version has just been launched on the Ovi and we are looking forward to test out this new service ourselves. As you recall, the N97 is also already supported by fring’s latest 3.40 version so the lucky one’s who already managed to get your hands on the N97 can start enjoying the very social fring 3.4 and a whole lot of other apps from Ovi right away.

More about the OVI
Offering a range of content including applications, games, videos, widgets, podcasts, location-based applications and personalized content, Ovi Store is unique in its ability to target content based on where you are, when you’re there, why you are where you are and who else has downloaded similar content.
The Ovi is planned to eventually be available on all S60 and Series 40 devices.

Launched back in June, the latest touch-screened Nokia N97 phone is the first device to have the pre-installed Ovi Store; along with many other features such as: full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, 32 GB memory, games, video, camera, widgets, and others.
* Worry not non-N97 customers- you can now also download fring and other apps from the Ovi website directly!

Hi guys, We’ve just released a new version for you, S60 (Nokia) users. The new version provides an even better and much faster Twitter experience; solves connectivity issues including fixes to some issues fringsters have been reporting in certain connectivity states & includes a few other bug fixes, all making for an even better fringing experience! Users of Nokia’s latest E52, 5630 and E72 devices – we didn’t forget you either. We followed through with our promise to spread the fringing freedom to you, as well, all reported issues have been addressed and resolved.
