New Android version with brand-new look, dialer and more!
Great news for our Android fringsters- only a few months ago fring’s launched its 1st Android version with the world’s 1st ever Skype VoIP calls and the version is quickly catching up with fring’s other leading platforms. Today’s version includes a new buddy list look, brand-new profile screen and the long-anticipated dialer, among other improvements.
First, we’ve updated the buddy list and made it a lot friendlier. The new buddy list features your friends’ picture and mood line as does your call screen.
Personalize your profile! The new version comes with a new personalized profile, where you can upload a picture & edit your mood, your email address and phone number, all at the click of a button.
Then, you asked for it and you got it- we’ve added a dialer screen (including DTMF), so you can dial in numbers during a call.
Lastly, you’ll love the voice improvements, Links support in the chat screen and other bug fixes we’ve added to this version, to make sure you get an even better communication experience.
So, now you have even more reasons to make sure you get the latest version today, because fring’s just gotten a lot more social on Android!
Download the new version here.

I second that! No DTMF or an inability to simply dial a number that’s not in your contacts is a downer.

The dialer only seems to work in Portrait mode. For us “small tablet” users (Archos A5A) that is a niggle, but it will be a disaster on the bigger screens coming down the wire.

When I saw there is a new version for Fring, I got excited like a 16 year old who’s been given a new computer.
I was so psyched hoping that maybe the long waited Bluetooth headset support had been added, but alas. :*(
The new features are really neat, but I still can’t use Fring without my bluetooth.

Video Call Doesnt Work Or Not Working Properly On These Devices.
E72 Installs but simply won’t open on some firmwire version
e90 confirmed not working
e51 front camera
e63 front camera
5530 front camera
5630XM no video recieving
n900 video call version request
Samsung i8910 HD video call version request
Request & fix are still left for all above devices..
doest work on some e72 product code or firmwire.
why dont you guys create an option of selecting a camera? (front or back) and both(front or back) of them works with 2 way. for all symbian 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 series. this will solve all the problems for famous 5530, e63 and e51. and from that people can also broadcast with any nokia device.
Samsung i8910 HD and nokia e90 is also on the top request and so many people are waiting for video call version.
n900 few request but new powerful device.
most of the request is done. thanks to fring team.

Using on Droid, better than official Skype, except I’m about to uninstall cuz I can’t shut off vibrate + LOUD noise on EVERY incoming chat msg! WTF!?! It’s embarrassing. I don’t want to mute the phone, just quiet the heck down.
Please!:
1. Let me configure volume, tone, and vibe on/off (tone per-contact would be great)
2. Skype-chat history would be great
3. Video would be great
Until then, cool, but maddening, will likely uninstall

YOU’VE GOT TO BE KDDING ME.
There is no way that you could not have realized how annoying a RING and a VIBRATE can be when you receive messages all the time.
Why then, did you decide not to have some kind of volume control over these functions? It is such an easy thing to add.
Please drop whatever you are doing and issue a quick fix update with a simple option to TURN THE RING and VIBRATE OFF - so that we dont have to turn the sound off for the whole phone to solve this.
Please do this asap. I like your app but am forced to uninstall it now.
Thanks,
Jace
