fring for iPhone over 3G on its way!
We’re very excited about AT&T’s announcement today (confirmed by Apple) that its 3G wireless network will be open to third-party Internet voice applications on iPhone.
Until now fring users could only use fring on their iPhone over Wi-Fi, so this comes as great news for us and our iPhone fringsters.
fring’s dev team is hard at work, making sure we will be ready to go once 3G iPhone gates are open . We will be live before you can even say “fring for iPhone over 3G on its way!” with the new feature-packed version we released just today… but also over 3G!

since I upgrade the new version i can not use SIP, contries from dialer are not anymore only “null”.Is there a way to reinstall the older version on iphone 3gs?

Try to uninstall fring -> Restart your iphone and download again.

There is a fix availble now. Go to (or download) Cydia, you will find an app called 3G unrestrictor; it costs 2.99 and it works! I can now make SIP calls on 3G using Fring. Unrestrictor also works on other apps that heve been blocked on 3G (because of AT&T) like Sling Player and other SIP phone apps. Good luck, I am very exited to be able to use my iphone for sip anywhere now!

I have an iPhone 3GS… can I download the unristrictor or is this now only available on jail broken units, which I understand has ended.

Damn, awesome website. I actually came across this on Yahoo, and I am really happy I did. I will definately be returning here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment.

Fring is such an awesome app, I have been using it since i got my 3GS. Its so cool how i can register to one of my own asterisk or freeswitch servers right from my iphone. And they have their cheap calling account too.
