Malaysian Silver Medalist - picture here with Joyce, is Lee Chong Wei, our national badminton mens singles athlete, he won the only medal for Malaysia from the Olympics, a silver medal, from the Men's Singles, Badminton finals. its a great achievement already, the last time we won a medal in this sport in Olympics was long time ago! This is definitely a bonus for our contingent, we sent only 33 athletes, hopefully we'll be able to send more in the coming Olympics.

Olympic Rings - these belongs to my friend, its an example of some of the souvenirs we collect over the times, we exchange it with other volunteers for the colors we dont have, and its really lovely to wear it on your hands, and as a volunteer it conveys an even stronger message abt the overall olympic spirit!~
picture8/24/2008 4:09:38 PM
Water Cube - its located right opposite the Birds Nest, sits the BEAUTIFUL, yes thats the exact word, bubbles of colors, transforming every seconds and changes every minutes, symphony display of colors giving it life just like water should be giving. we were too far from it, thus thats the best shot we could get, apparently, to get there it will take 20mins to walk close to it...omg...it was so late at night, we thought this pic was suffice. :)

Birds Nest - of cos we MUST check out the National Stadium when we're there! trust me, it was an amazing sight to behold, when we exit the train station at Bei Tu Cheng, the volunteers told us we had to walk at least 1000m before we can see it, we were so tired that day, but we didnt give up. as we approach the venue, i must say, it is nothing like we see on TV, its much more impressive, way beyond any words to describe or compare it too, its not equivalent to anything, except maybe its one magnificent structure thats really unforgettable!
picture8/24/2008 4:03:41 PM
CCTV - one of the latest addition in beijing, this magnificent looking building, is the headquarters of CCTV, national TV station, its still in construction, but it already commands great attention to it from EVERY ANGLE. it started out as something impossible, but i guess they manage to overcome it. we saw it when we exit the Guo Mao train station, it was so stunning, we abandon our shopping plans and just walk around the blocks to check it out! :)
picture8/24/2008 4:00:15 PM
Chinese Starbucks - its a common sight to walk into...i love the old preserved buildings and the sidewalks, within it, it sells familiar items, like this one, STARBUCKS, u walk into an ancient shop to get an ice cold american brand coffeee, how culturally interesting is that! we're so tired from walking, we just sat by the stairs and watch people pass by and vice versa...lol
picture8/24/2008 3:57:03 PM
Weird Taxi - We also some pretty unique sight near Gu Lou Da Jia or also known as Hou Hai!~ this is the MINI-est taxi i've ever seen! it can fit 2 person, yeah, i took a ride in it, its fun!~~~ this guy did a hell lot of works on it, trust me, the other taxis are not even close to its flashy-ness!
picture8/24/2008 3:51:35 PM
Majestic Lunch - we were caught in a rain when we're visiting the Summer Palace, so we head into the posh chinese restaurant, an order a feast...i mean, we had NO choice, it all comes in a set menu, we had to eat every single thing up cos it does cost a bomb!~ but its worth it. :) look at the presentation, its pretty tasty too~
picture8/24/2008 3:47:46 PM
JUMP- We visit Temple of Heaven, and we're so excited we're hopping just about anywhere that we feel like it, its like we dont have a care in the world cos our dream has come true to be part of the olympic games in this historical city of beijing!

picture8/24/2008 3:37:46 PM
Rainy Days - there are days when things are not so good for us, one of my down days too. :( especially, when it rained, it means, pissed off spectators, play delayed, play suspended or play cancelled, and we have to deal with more than 10,000 audience at the main entrance. We're here taking a break, before we replace the volunteers who're outside, braving the rain and dealing with audiences and explaining and comforting and ensuring the best solution for their concerns.
picture8/24/2008 3:36:04 PM
Training - the first few days when we arrived, we receive comprehensive training with our respective teams, we're spectator service volunteers, so we had to learn all aspects abt spectator service, comfort etc. seen here is wheel chair training. :)
picture8/24/2008 3:32:41 PM
Roger Federer - of cos, how can we forget the ex no1 tennis player! :) to be honest, he garnered more attention from the local volunteers than nadal, when they heard Fed was practicing in the centre court, nearly every volunteer, if not ALL, went running towards the courts, and filled the seats within minutes!!!~ well we got some serious warnings from our supervisor later anyway....but its worth the risk to catch a glimpse of fed practicing! :)
