When using fring over your home, office or free public WiFi network, calls and chats are completely free and therefore no consumption of your carrier data plan takes place. In fact, you can even remove your SIM card!

With fring, you can automatically roam into WiFi hotspots where you already have an account. When leaving that zone, you will communicate over 3G or, if switching from one previously logged-in network public hotspot to another, fring will use WISPr to automatically operate over that WiFi network without you even realizing it. With WISPr, fring recognizes any public WiFi network you have logged into before, even if you’ve never been to that particular hotspot. This feature allows you to effortlessly make more free calls and chats, without suffering a lengthy configuration process each time.
